The Indonesia Composite Bond Index (ICBI) closed at 322.3556 at the end of last week (Friday, July 23, 2021). Quoting the Indonesian Securities Pricing website, this is an increase of 0.6465 points (0.2%) from the previous week's 321.7092.

The INDOBeX Government Total Return Index rose 0.6565 points (0.21%) last week to 316.1118 from the previous week. The INDOBeX Corporate Total Return Index strengthened by 0.4074 points (0.12%) to 352.6078 from the previous week.

Similarly, the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) of the Indonesia Stock Exchange closed up 29.18 points (0.48%) at 6,101.69 compared to the previous week's close.

This week's financial market movements will be influenced by several factors. Positively, the Dow Jones Index's performance last week and optimism that the Board of Governors of the US Federal Reserve (The Fed) will maintain its benchmark interest rate at 0.25% could provide positive sentiment to the market.

Meanwhile, the still high number of new positive cases and deaths domestically could create negative sentiment. This is further compounded by the extension of the Level 4 Community Activity Restriction (PPKM) policy until August 2, 2021.
