Indonesia's Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) rose 0.94% in line with strengthening Asian stock markets (Monday, June 3, 2024)

The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) strengthened by 0.94% to 7,036.19 at the close of trading on Monday (June 3, 2024).

According to Pilarmas Investindo Sekuritas, today's JCI strengthening is in line with the positive performance of Asian regional markets.

"Externally, the strengthening of the Asian regional market is supported by market players' response to the release of the manufacturing index," said the research team at Pilarmas Investindo Sekuritas, as reported by *Antara*, Monday (June 3, 2024).

Based on the IDX-IC Sectoral Index, seven stock sectors strengthened today. The health sector led with a 1.58% increase, followed by the energy and non-primary consumer goods sectors, which rose by 1.14% and 1.04%, respectively.

Meanwhile, four other sectors were corrected. The infrastructure sector fell the most, by 0.64%, followed by the property and transportation-logistics sectors, which fell by 0.45% and 0.26%, respectively.

According to RTI Business data, the frequency of stock trading on the domestic exchange today was 952,800 transactions.

A total of 16.58 billion shares changed hands, with a transaction value of approximately Rp 10.77 trillion.

299 stocks closed lower today, 278 stocks strengthened, and 203 stocks were stagnant.

Today's top gainers were SURI, which soared 34.64%, followed by AREA and PPRI, which rose by 25% and 18.25%, respectively.

On the other hand, the stock with the code CARE became the top loser after plunging 12.79%, followed by VTNY and PTPS, which fell by 11.93% and 11.32%, respectively.

Almost all Asian stock exchanges this afternoon closed in the green. The Nikkei index rose 1.13% to 38,923, the Hang Seng index rose 1.79% to 18,403.03, the Strait Times index rose 0.27% to 3,345.72, while the Shanghai index weakened 0.27% to 3,078.48.
