President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will soon inaugurate eight National Strategic Projects (NSPs). These projects, launched towards the end of his term, have a total investment value of approximately Rp437 trillion.
The projects ready for inauguration include toll roads, industrial estates, and tourism destinations.
According to *Bisnis.com*, Wahyu Utomo, Deputy for Regional Development and Spatial Planning Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy and Head of the KPPIP Executive Team, stated that construction on these NSPs has been completed.
"The NSPs are finished and ready for inauguration. The Coordinating Minister will report this. Mr. President, currently 191 projects have been completed. There are several NSPs that are partially completed, and we request that Mr. President inaugurate them," said Wahyu at the Infrastructure Forum at The Kasablanka Hall, Jakarta, on Wednesday (September 13, 2023).
Here are the details of the eight NSPs ready for inauguration by Jokowi, listed from highest to lowest investment value:
* Weda Bay Industrial Estate, Central Halmahera Regency, North Maluku
This estate, built on 5,000 hectares of land, has an investment value of up to Rp183 trillion. The project is managed by Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP), aligned with nickel downstreaming with products such as feronickel, nickel matte, HPAL smelter, and planned EV battery precursor construction. The project's investment value is targeted to increase to Rp384 trillion by 2027.
* Simpang Indralaya-Muara Enim Toll Road, Section 1
This road, part of the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road, is claimed to improve access for South Sumatra residents. Managed by PT Hutama Karya (Persero), this section has an investment value of Rp24.11 trillion and a length of 64.7 km.
* Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road, Sections 5 and 6
This 12.7-kilometer project is under the command of state-owned enterprise PT Hutama Karya (Persero). This toll road is one of the main sections or backbones of the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road network. Its investment value reaches Rp12.53 trillion.
* Pasuruan-Probolinggo Toll Road, Section 4A
The Pasuruan-Probolinggo (Paspro) Toll Road, Section 4A, is integrated with the Trans-Java Toll Road. Managed by PT Transjawa Paspro as a Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT), this project has an investment value of Rp6.36 trillion and a length of 8.57 km.
* Serpong-Cinere Toll Road, Section 2
This road is integrated with the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) 2, designed to improve access for residents of the Jabodetabek area. The project is managed by PT Cinere Serpong Jaya with an investment value of Rp3.8 trillion and a length of 3.64 km.
* Cinere-Jagorawi Toll Road, Section 3
Cijago, as this project is abbreviated, is also integrated with JORR 2. It is built to alleviate congestion on Raya Bogor Road towards Depok. This project is managed by PT Translingkar Kita Jaya as a BUJT with an investment value of Rp3.21 trillion.
* Development of the Parapuar Labuan Bajo Tourism Area
This sustainable project is built on 200 hectares of land as a landmark of the Komodo biosphere reserve in Manggarai Barat, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). It is managed by the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority Agency with an investment of Rp2.8 trillion.
* Cikampek Red and White Catalyst Industry
Developed by PT Katalis Sinerga Indonesia with PT Pertamina Lubricants, PT Pupuk Kujang, and PT Rekacipta Inovasi ITB. Covering 2 hectares, it has an investment value of Rp286 billion. It is built to reduce dependence on imported catalysts and fuel.
