Based on data from the Indonesian Payment System Association (ASPI), approximately 48 million consumers (users) utilized QRIS in March 2024.
This figure represents a 50% year-on-year (YoY) increase and sets a new record high.
This surge in users coincides with a growing number of merchants accepting QRIS payments.
In March 2024, there were approximately 32 million QRIS merchants in Indonesia, a 28% YoY growth.
This growth in both consumers and merchants has driven a rise in transactions.
ASPI recorded a 199% YoY increase in QRIS transaction volume in March 2024, reaching 374 million transactions.
The total transaction value also grew by 223% YoY, reaching Rp 42 trillion.
QRIS is a digital payment facility from Bank Indonesia (BI). This facility allows merchants and consumers to conduct cashless transactions by scanning a QR code using a smartphone.
