As of Q1 2017, the top five banks with the largest banking assets remained unchanged from the previous year. The five largest banks, namely BRI, Mandiri, BCA, BNI, and CIMB Niaga, have held these positions for the past two years. Despite a decrease compared to the end of last year, BRI still leads as the bank with the largest banking assets, reaching Rp 954.17 trillion (individual), followed by Bank Mandiri in second place at Rp 910.37 trillion. Considering their consolidated assets, these two banks have surpassed Rp 1,000 trillion.
