BCA's Brand Value Reaches Rp 267.4 Trillion, Ranking 11th Globally

According to a Kantar report, Bank Central Asia (BCA) is among the top 15 banks globally with the highest brand value. Founded by Sudono Salim, the company boasts a brand value of US$18.6 billion, or Rp267.4 trillion (using an exchange rate of Rp14,400/US$ in 2021).

BCA's inclusion in this list is attributed to its perceived safety and security as a place for consumers to deposit their money during the uncertain times brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. This perception stems from BCA's strong government connections and supportive environment.

Meanwhile, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) holds the top spot as the bank with the highest brand value, reaching US$37.8 billion, equivalent to Rp543.8 trillion.

Wells Fargo follows with a brand value of US$28 billion, or Rp403.1 trillion. The Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) comes next, possessing a brand value of US$27.6 billion, or Rp397.5 trillion.

J.P. Morgan has a brand value of US$24.1 billion, or Rp347.1 trillion, while Chase Bank's brand value stands at US$21.8 billion, or Rp313.9 trillion.

The Kantar report indicates that several banks experienced an increase in brand value due to their ability to provide services amidst the corona pandemic. One such service was offering payment holidays.
