ShopeePay Surpasses OVO & GoPay During the Corona Pandemic

Snapcart research notes that ShopeePay, a payment fintech, surpassed OVO & GoPay in terms of transaction value and frequency during the corona pandemic. The research was conducted from June to August 2020 with 1,000 respondents.

ShopeePay recorded the largest market share of total transaction value, namely 34% of the total e-wallet transaction value in Indonesia, followed by OVO (25%), GoPay (16%), DANA (17%), and LinkAja (9%). In terms of transaction frequency, ShopeePay held 32%, followed by OVO (25%), GoPay (20%), DANA (16%), and LinkAja (8%).

In terms of the number of users, ShopeePay also emerged as the most dominant. Snapcart recorded that Shopee's payment fintech had the largest number of users at 68%, followed by OVO (56%), GoPay (56%), DANA (42%), and LinkAja (19%).
