Bank Central Asia (BCA) Tbk ranks second, after DBS Group Holding (DBS), as the largest bank by market capitalization in Southeast Asia. According to Bloomberg data, the bank, traded under the code BBCA, has a market capitalization of Rp 540.56 trillion. Meanwhile, the Singaporean bank, DBS, has a market capitalization of Rp 645.9 trillion.
Three Indonesian banks are included in the list of the 10 largest banks in ASEAN. Besides Bank BCA, the other two Indonesian banks are Bank BRI with a market capitalization of Rp 447.75 trillion and Bank Mandiri with Rp 371 trillion. Similarly, three Singaporean banks are included in the list of the 10 largest banks in Southeast Asia: DBS, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp (OCBC), and United Overseas Bank Ltd (UOB). The remaining four banks are from Malaysia and Thailand, with two banks from each country.
With a closing price of Rp 21,925 per share on Thursday (December 28th), Bank BCA shares are the most expensive among the 10 largest banks in Southeast Asia. This is reflected in Bank BCA's Price-to-Earnings Ratio (PER) which has reached 24.23 times. This figure is higher than Bank Mandiri's PER of 22 times, Bank BRI's 15.97 times, and DBS's 15.47 times.
