According to a Jakpat survey in November 2025, as many as 72% of respondents, or approximately 7 out of 10 Indonesians, use digital wallets (e-wallets) for money transfers.

However, the number of those using e-wallets for investment is the lowest, at just 14%.

Here are the purposes of e-wallet use by Indonesians in November 2025, according to the Jakpat survey:

Payment tool for offline events: 24%

If broken down by generation, Gen Z is more inclined to save money and make online payments using e-wallets, with percentages of 53% and 59%.

Meanwhile, paying bills with e-wallets is more commonly done by Millennials and Gen X, with percentages of 75% and 69% respectively.

"Bill payments are more common among older users, especially Millennials, reflecting their focus on financial management," said Jakpat in its report.

Jakpat conducted this survey online from November 14-21, 2025, involving 1,945 e-wallet users aged 17-55 in Indonesia, with a margin of error below 5%.
