September 2025, Indonesia's Consumer Confidence Index Fell Again

The results of Bank Indonesia's (BI) survey show that the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) score reached 115 points in September 2025.

This score decreased by 2.2 points from 117.2 in August 2025. The September 2025 score is also the lowest since the beginning of this year.

Nevertheless, the CCI score in September 2025 remains at an optimistic level as it is above 100 points. Conversely, conditions are considered pessimistic if the index score is less than 100 points.

BI stated that the September 2025 CCI was supported by the Current Economic Condition Index (CECI) and the Consumer Expectation Index (CEI), both of which remained at optimistic levels. CECI and CEI were recorded at 102.7 and 127.2 points, respectively.

"Although lower compared to the previous month's indices, which were recorded at 105.1 and 129.2 points respectively," BI wrote in its release on October 8, 2025.

The CECI is derived from three indices. First, the Current Income Index (CII) reached 112.9 points, down from 116.9 points previously. Second, the Durable Goods Purchase Index (DGPI) was 103.2 points, down from 105.1 points last month. Both remain at optimistic levels.

However, the third index, the Job Availability Index (JAI), remains at a pessimistic level with 92 points, down from 93.2 points in August 2025.

Meanwhile, the September 2025 CEI is derived from three indices. First, the Job Availability Expectation Index (JAEI) was 123.1 points, slightly up from 122.8 in the previous period.

Second, the Income Expectation Index (IEI) was 134.3 points, lower than the previous month's 136.7 points. Third, the Business Activity Expectation Index (BAEI) was recorded at 124.2 points, also down from 128.2 points in August 2025.
