The number of registered QRIS merchants reached 12.2 million by November 2021.

Based on the 2021 Bank Indonesia Annual Meeting report, as of November 5, 2021, the number of QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) merchants had reached 12.2 million. This figure shows a sharp increase of 297.1% compared to March 22, 2020, when there were 3.08 million merchants.

Micro businesses had the highest number of registered QRIS merchants, reaching 7.53 million as of November 5, 2021. This was followed by small businesses with 3.2 million and medium businesses with 928,000.

Large businesses had 449,300 registered QRIS merchants. Meanwhile, the donation/social sector had 124,500 registered QRIS merchants.

To expand the use of QRIS, Bank Indonesia provides several incentives for merchants, such as extending the 0% QRIS merchant discount rate (MDR) for micro businesses until December 31, 2021, and increasing the QRIS transaction limit from Rp2 million per transaction to Rp5 million per transaction.

Synergy and coordination with the government are also continuously strengthened through the use of QRIS in the National Movement Proud of Indonesian-Made Products (BBI) and Tourism in Indonesia (BWI).
