Bank Indonesia recorded a Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) of 107.4 in June 2021. This figure is three points higher than the previous month's 104.4.
Furthermore, this increase continues an upward trend over the past five months, indicating strengthening consumer optimism regarding economic conditions.
A more detailed analysis reveals that the CCI increased across all spending groups, particularly among respondents with monthly expenditures between Rp 2.1 million and Rp 3 million. The increase also occurred across most age groups, especially those over 60 years old.
Spatially, consumer confidence improved in eight cities in June 2021. The highest increases were recorded in Banten (17.6 points), Denpasar (16.1 points), and Mataram (10.7 points).
Quarter-on-quarter, the CCI reached 104.4 in Q2 2021, up from 88 in the previous quarter and significantly higher than the 82.1 recorded in Q2 2020.
