Based on data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), total third-party funds (DPK) sourced from public savings reached Rp8,457.92 trillion (Rp8.45 quadrillion) in the final quarter of 2023.
This figure increased by 3.73% year-on-year (yoy) from the previous Rp8,153.59 trillion. It also increased by 1.31% quarter-to-quarter (qtq) from September 2023, which stood at Rp8,147.16 trillion.
By bank group, the majority of DPK (Rp3,747.61 trillion or 44.31% of the total DPK) was held by state-owned banks (BUMN).
"The growth of DPK in state-owned banks slowed to 4.65% (yoy) after growing by 12.63% (yoy) the previous year," the OJK wrote in its report published on March 27, 2024.

Second highest was held by domestic private commercial banks (BUSN) at Rp3,745.3 trillion or 44.28%. Similar to state-owned banks, DPK funds in private banks also saw slower growth, decreasing from 5.38% (yoy) in December 2022 to 4.16% (yoy) in December 2023.
Third highest DPK was held by regional development banks (BPD) at Rp730.33 trillion or 8.64%. "The BPD group also experienced a slowdown in DPK, growing from 6.20% (yoy) previously to 0.89% (yoy)," wrote the OJK.
Finally, foreign branch offices of banks (KCBLN) collected Rp234.68 trillion or 2.77% of public funds. In this list, only the growth of DPK in KCBLN plummeted to minus 7.24% (yoy) after achieving 22.51% (yoy) growth in 2022.
