Fintech Lending Disbursements Reach Rp 12.18 Trillion in April 2021

Monthly disbursement of fintech lending continues to increase. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) recorded a value of Rp 12.18 trillion in April 2021. This figure increased by 3.57% compared to the previous month.

Furthermore, this disbursement was the highest in the last year. The highest disbursement in the previous year occurred in March 2021, reaching Rp 11.76 trillion.

In April 2021, monthly loans were disbursed to 36.7 million borrowers. The majority of borrowers came from the Java region, namely 31.72 million people.

Rp 6.84 trillion, or 56.19% of the total monthly fintech lending disbursement in April 2021, was allocated to the productive sector. The details are: Rp 3.14 trillion for sectors other than other business fields, Rp 1.28 trillion for wholesale and retail trade, and Rp 505 billion for households.

Meanwhile, from the lender's side, the number reached 7.16 million entities with a value of Rp 12.12 trillion. The collaboration of loan disbursement by institutional lenders (super lenders) in this period was contributed by 54 conventional financial institutions amounting to Rp 1.35 trillion and from one government institution amounting to Rp 23.05 billion.
