Earthquake Today, March 25, 2024, Strikes Doda

A recent earthquake measuring 4.4 magnitude struck Doda on March 25, 2024. According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake's epicenter was located on land, approximately 17 kilometers north of Doda.

"Earthquake felt, Magnitude: 4.4 on March 25, 2024, at 12:37:05," BMKG wrote in its release. The earthquake occurred at coordinates 1.58°S (South Latitude) and 120.21°E (East Longitude).

The earthquake was felt on the Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI) scale in several areas, including Utara, Peore, and Kulawi, with intensities of III, III, and II-III respectively. An MMI scale of III means the earthquake was felt by several people but did not cause damage or accidents. Light hanging objects swayed, and window panes vibrated.

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) recorded 18 significant earthquakes felt by the public across Indonesia in the past week, varying in magnitude and depth.
