According to a report by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), there were 1,535 fires in DKI Jakarta throughout 2021. This number is a decrease from the 3,156 fires recorded in 2020.
Based on location, the most fires in 2021 were recorded in South Jakarta, with 446 incidents.
East Jakarta and West Jakarta followed with 331 and 322 incidents respectively. Jakarta Pusat and North Jakarta recorded 210 incidents each.
The Thousand Islands recorded the fewest fires in DKI Jakarta, with only 16 incidents in 2021.
Based on the object of the fire, residential areas were most affected, with 516 incidents. This was followed by public buildings (274 incidents), motor vehicles (102 incidents), and industrial buildings (16 incidents). Fires affecting other objects totaled 627 incidents last year.
