The Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimujono, stated that the construction of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) will begin soon.
"This coming Monday, we will start with the signing of the contract, then on September 5th, and so on consecutively, so that construction in IKN will commence in 2022," said Basuki in a working meeting with Commission V of the DPR (House of Representatives), Thursday (25/8/2022).
The construction of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) is indeed one of the Strategic Priority Projects that receives primary emphasis (Highlight Major Project).
This was stipulated in Presidential Regulation No. 115 of 2021 concerning the Updating of the 2022 Government Work Plan (RKP), which serves as a reference for the central and regional governments in planning, budgeting, and implementing development.
In the 2022 RKP document, the government allocated Rp965.45 billion for the construction of IKN. Rp166.85 billion comes from support for ministerial/institutional spending (K/L), government and business entity cooperation (KPBU), and special allocation funds (DAK). The remaining Rp798.6 billion comes from support from state-owned enterprises (BUMN).
These funds are not only for infrastructure but also to support various other sub-projects, including forest rehabilitation and ecosystem restoration.
Here is a breakdown of the 10 IKN construction sub-projects with the largest budget allocations in the 2022 RKP:
1. Construction of Telecommunication Network Infrastructure, Interconnection, and High Voltage Transmission: Rp798.6 billion
2. Construction of the Sepaku Semoi Dam: Rp105.26 billion
3. Rehabilitation of Forests and Land in IKN and Surrounding River Basins (DAS): Rp22.8 billion
4. IKN Transportation System Study: Rp10.12 billion
5. Mapping/Assessment and Competency of East Jakarta City ASN: Rp5.5 billion
6. Development of Instruments for Mapping/Assessment of Competency of East Jakarta City ASN: Rp4 billion
7. IKN Security: Rp3.16 billion
8. Land Area Map (PBT) Cluster 4 Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) ASN Category 3 Kutai Kartanegara Regency: Rp2.55 billion
9. IKN Area Undergoing Ecosystem Restoration: Rp2.55 billion
10. Land Ownership Certification (SHAT) Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) ASN Category 3 Penajam Paser Utara Regency: Rp1.39 billion
