Recent 4.8 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Ogotua District, Tolitoli Regency

A recent earthquake measuring 4.8 magnitude struck Ogotua, Tolitoli Regency, on March 2, 2023. According to a release from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake's epicenter was located in the sea, approximately 35 kilometers north of Ogotua, Tolitoli Regency.

"Earthquake felt: Magnitude 4.8 on March 2, 2023, at 08:56:43," BMKG wrote in its release. The earthquake occurred at coordinates 1.27°N (North Latitude) and 120.20°E (East Longitude).

The earthquake was felt on the Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI) scale in several areas, including Toli, with an intensity of II-III. An MMI scale of II means the earthquake was not felt by most people or was felt only by a few, but was recorded by instruments.
