Earthquake Today, April 11, 2023, Strikes Kaimana

A 4.2 magnitude (M) earthquake struck Kaimana. The epicenter was at sea. "The earthquake's epicenter was located 94 km southwest of Kaimana at sea, and this earthquake is felt and should be relayed to the public," wrote BMKG (Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency) on its official website, April 11, 2023.

The earthquake occurred at 12:52:41 PM. It had a depth of 10 kilometers and posed no tsunami threat. The earthquake's coordinates were 3.96°S (South Latitude) and 133.43°E (East Longitude).

The earthquake was felt in Kaimana at intensity II MMI. An intensity II MMI means the earthquake was not felt by most people or was felt only by a few, but was recorded by instruments.

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) recorded eight significant earthquakes felt by the public across Indonesia in the past week, varying in magnitude and depth.
