Most Jakarta Residents Satisfied with Flood Management in DKI Jakarta

Flood management in Jakarta, DKI Jakarta, has recently been deemed quite good by local residents. This is because one of the policies in flood management in the capital city is carried out through river management by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

A Populi Center survey shows that the majority of residents are satisfied with flood management in DKI Jakarta. The percentage reaches 74.9%.

The details are as follows: 12.2% of respondents said they were very satisfied. Then, 62.7% of respondents said they were satisfied.

Meanwhile, 23.1% of residents said they were dissatisfied with flood management in DKI Jakarta. 21.3% were dissatisfied and 1.8% were very dissatisfied. 2% of respondents said they didn't know or didn't answer.

The survey also noted a number of flood management programs carried out by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, including river dredging and river normalization (land acquisition to increase river capacity).

Then, there are vertical drainage programs or infiltration wells and the construction of reservoirs or retention basins. There is also the creation of water polders and settling ponds.

The Populi Center survey was conducted on 600 respondents in 60 sub-districts in DKI Jakarta. This survey was conducted from January 26 to February 1, 2022, using a multistage random sampling method. The margin of error for this survey is ± 4% at a 95% confidence level.
