Climate change has not yet become a priority for most Indonesian Muslims.

This is evident from the survey report *Climate Action through the Eyes of Indonesian Muslims* released by Purpose, an international advocacy organization.

In August-September 2024, Purpose surveyed 3,000 Muslims in various regions of Indonesia.

One of the findings is that the majority, or 60% of respondents, consider employment to be the most important issue.

This figure consists of 16% who prioritized employment as their top priority (top 1), and 44% who placed it among their top three priorities (top 3).

Other issues that received significant attention were health, poverty, and education, which were prioritized by a total of 56-59% of respondents.

Meanwhile, environmental issues were prioritized by less than 50% of respondents, precisely 37%, with details as shown in the graph.

According to Purpose, this is because environmental issues, one of which is climate change, are often discussed in a theoretical manner.

They encourage that climate change issues be presented in a context that is more prioritized by the community. For example, how many jobs can be created by the clean energy industry, what the salaries are, and so on.
