According to data compiled by Asian Bonds Online, the rupiah depreciated by 1.69% year-to-date (YTD)—making it the weakest currency in the region. The rupiah stood at 16,409 on Tuesday.

Other currencies that depreciated were the Myanmar kyat (MMK) by 0.09% and the Hong Kong dollar (HKD) by 0.02% (YTD).

Excluding these three countries, other currencies showed positive growth.

The strongest currency was the Japanese yen (JPY), which appreciated by 6.37% (YTD). The US dollar to JPY exchange rate was 147.78.

Next, the Brunei dollar (BND) and the Singapore dollar strengthened by 2.68% (YTD) respectively.

The remaining currencies, including the Thai baht (THB) and the Vietnamese dong (VND), strengthened within the range of 1.74% to 0.02% (YTD), as shown in the graph.
