WRI 2022: Indonesia is the world's second most disaster-prone country.

Bündnis Entwicklung Hilft, together with the Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict (IFHV) of the Ruhr-University Bochum, released the 2022 World Risk Report. This research assesses the risk level of disasters in several countries worldwide.

The assessment is based on five indicators: exposure, vulnerability, susceptibility, lack of coping capacity, and limited adaptive capacity to disasters.

Of the 193 countries assessed, Indonesia is ranked second as the country most at risk of disasters globally. Its World Risk Index (WRI) score is 43.50 out of 100. A higher WRI score indicates a greater risk of disasters.

The Philippines ranks first as the country most at risk of disasters, achieving an index score of 46.86.

India ranks third, with a score of 41.52.

Andorra has the lowest WRI score, at 0.22 in 2022. This small European country is considered the safest from the threat of disasters.
