Crude Oil Prices Surge, Pertamina Raises Non-Subsidized Fuel Prices

Starting July 1, 2018, the price of non-subsidized fuel (BBM) at Pertamina Public Fuel Stations (SPBU) increased in line with the soaring global crude oil prices, which are currently above US$70/barrel. For information, the price of WTI crude oil on July 2nd, for the next month's contract, was traded at US$73.65/barrel, while Brent crude oil reached US$78.1/barrel.

The largest price increase among non-subsidized BBM at Pertamina SPBU was for Dexlite, rising by Rp 900/liter to Rp 8,100/liter, followed by Pertamax and Pertamax Turbo, each increasing by Rp 600/liter. Pertamina Dex increased by Rp 500/liter to Rp 10,500/liter. Meanwhile, non-subsidized kerosene also increased by Rp 100/liter to Rp 11,550/liter. According to Pertamina's Vice President of Corporate Communication, Adiatma Sardjito, the fuel price adjustment reflects the increase in the average global crude oil price, which has reached US$75/barrel.

Other fuels consumed by the lower and middle classes, such as Pertalite, remained unchanged at Rp 7,800/liter. Similarly, the price of non-subsidized solar fuel remained at Rp 7,700/liter, and Pertamax Racing remained unchanged at Rp 42,000/liter. The price of Premium also remained unchanged at Rp 6,550/liter.
