Saudi Aramco, the world's largest oil company by market capitalization

According to *Visual Capitalist*, Saudi Aramco is the oil and gas company with the largest market capitalization in the world. As of October 7, 2021, the Saudi Arabian company's market capitalization reached US$1.98 trillion.

Saudi Aramco also recorded the highest net profit globally in 2019, reaching US$88 billion. In 2020, Apple surpassed it, but high oil prices could propel Saudi Aramco back to the top in 2021.

ExxonMobil holds the second-largest market capitalization among oil and gas companies. This US-based company has a market capitalization of US$257.30 billion.

Chevron, another US company, occupies the third position with a market capitalization of US$205.29 billion. Next is Shell, a Dutch oil and gas company, with a market capitalization of US$175.28 billion.

Following are PetroChina from China and TotalEnergies from France, with market capitalizations of US$162.55 billion and US$130.56 billion, respectively. Gazprom (Russia) has a market capitalization of US$121.77 billion, ConocoPhillips (USA) US$95.93 billion, British Petroleum (BP) (UK) US$93.97 billion, and Rosneft (Russia) US$84.07 billion.
