"Data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources' national gas balance shows that the gas supply for domestic needs will begin to experience a deficit, thus relying on imports in 2026," said Luhut at the 3rd International Convention Indonesia Upstream Oil and Gas 2022 in Bali, as reported by Detik.com on Wednesday (November 23, 2022).

At the event, Luhut stated that Indonesia has very large gas reserves, but these reserves cannot yet be utilized due to inadequate infrastructure.
