What are the Salaries of Workers in Indonesia by Education Level?

The Central Statistics Agency recorded an average net wage of Rp 2.8 million per month for all education levels. The highest wage was found in the 35-44 hours per week range for primary employment, amounting to Rp 3.4 million.

Considering education levels, university graduates received the highest average wage at Rp 4.4 million per month. Diploma I/II/III/Academy graduates earned Rp 3.4 million per month. Meanwhile, at the secondary level, vocational high school (SMK) graduates received a slightly higher average wage than high school (SMA) graduates. The recorded wage for SMK graduates was Rp 2.73 million and for SMA graduates Rp 2.68 million per month.

The lowest average wage was received by employees who had not/never pursued education, amounting to Rp 1.2 million per month. Slightly higher than that, employees who did not complete primary school (SD) received a wage of Rp 1.6 million per month.
