Construction Worker Wages Increased Slightly in September 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported a slight increase in the average wages of construction workers in September 2021. Specifically, the average nominal wage for construction workers was recorded at Rp 91,226 per day in September 2021, a 0.01% increase from Rp 91,217 per day in the previous month.

Meanwhile, the average real wage for construction workers was Rp 85,630 per day last month, a 0.05% increase from Rp 85,587 per day in August 2021.

The average real wage for construction workers is a comparison of the nominal wage against the urban consumer price index (CPI). BPS recorded the CPI for 90 cities in Indonesia at 106.53.

Increases were also seen in the wages of other urban workers. The average nominal wage for female salon workers increased by 0.06% to Rp 29,155 per person. The average real wage increased by 0.1% to Rp 27,367 per person.

The average nominal wage for domestic helpers (ART) increased by 0.09% to Rp 425,736 per month in September 2021. The average real wage for ART increased by 0.13% to Rp 399,624 per month.

In rural areas, the average nominal wage for farm laborers increased by 0.11% to Rp 56,962 per day in September 2021. Meanwhile, the average real wage for farm laborers increased by 0.25% to Rp 52,882 per day in September 2021.
