The number of PPPK reaches 50,000 people, mostly teachers.

According to the 2021 State Civil Apparatus Statistics (ASN) data, the total number of Government Employees with Work Contracts (PPPK) reached 50,553 by December 2021.

Based on job type, the majority of PPPKs in Indonesia hold functional positions, namely as Teachers (33,984). This is followed by Agricultural Extension Workers (11,429) and Health Workers (2,328).

Further, the composition of PPPK includes 1,442 Education Personnel, 1,349 Lecturers, and 16 Technical Staff. A small number of PPPKs also hold structural positions, namely 5 High-Ranking Officials (JPT) at the Madya level.

Based on age group, the composition of PPPKs in Indonesia is dominated by the 41-50 age group, followed by the 31-40 and 51-60 age groups.

In terms of education, PPPKs are predominantly Bachelor's degree holders, followed by Diploma II-IV holders, and those with Junior High/High School education.

Regarding agency distribution, the majority of PPPKs in Indonesia work in regional government agencies, totaling 47,749 individuals, or 94% of the total PPPKs. The remaining 6%, or 2,804 individuals, work in central government agencies.

The National Agency of Civil Servants (BKN) predicts that the number of PPPKs will continue to grow due to the significant year-on-year increase in PPPK recruitment policies.

This aligns with the government's target of modernizing the bureaucracy, one of which is to strive for a larger number of PPPKs compared to Civil Servants (PNS).
