Jakarta Provincial Government's PNS Reached 59,700 in 2020

The Jakarta Provincial Government's Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the number of Civil Servants (PNS) in the capital city was 59,653 in 2020. This figure is lower than the previous year's 64,159.

The highest concentration of Jakarta's civil servants is in East Jakarta, with 15,383 individuals. This is followed by South Jakarta with 11,955.

Furthermore, 9,113 civil servants are located in West Jakarta, 8,937 in the DKI Jakarta Province, and 6,851 in Central Jakarta. 6,534 are in North Jakarta and 880 in the Thousand Islands.

Jakarta's civil servants comprise 27,608 men and 32,045 women. By age, Jakarta's civil servants are dominated by the 50 and over age group, reaching 51.7% of the total. Meanwhile, employees under 35 years old only account for 11%.

This needs to be heeded, as within the next 10 years, the 50 and over age group will be entering retirement. Therefore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government needs to recruit new employees.
