Several factors influence Indonesian consumers' smartphone choices, as revealed in Populix's September 2023 "Indonesia Mobile Phone Purchase Behavior" survey.

The survey shows that 78% of Indonesian respondents prioritize RAM capacity when selecting a smartphone. Other significant factors include storage capacity (65%) and affordable price (60%).

This online survey involved 1,096 respondents from August 9-14, 2023. The majority of respondents were from Java (45%), followed by Sumatra (5%) and other islands (50%).

Over half of the respondents were young adults aged 17-25 (57%) and 26-35 (28%). Professionally, the largest group were employees (51%), followed by students (27%) and entrepreneurs (12%).
