Civil Servants Who Resign Face Potential Rp100 Million Fine

Of the approximately 112,000 individuals who passed the 2021 Civil Servant Candidate Selection (CPNS), 105 have reportedly withdrawn.

The National Civil Service Agency (BKN) stated that those who withdrew will face sanctions for leaving positions vacant.

These withdrawals are also considered detrimental to the state due to the significant costs incurred in conducting the CPNS recruitment process.

Head of the BKN's Legal, Public Relations, and Cooperation Bureau, Satya Pratama, stated that those who withdraw will be sanctioned according to Article 54 Paragraph (2) of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Regulation Number 27 of 2021.

"The sanction is that they will not be allowed to apply for ASN recruitment for the next period," said Satya, as quoted from *Detik.com*, Sunday (29/5/2022).

There are also additional sanctions in the form of fines ranging from Rp25 million to Rp100 million, depending on the regulations of each institution.

For example, a CPNS who passed the selection at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but withdrew must pay a fine of Rp50 million.

The largest fine is imposed by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN). The following are the fines for BIN CPNS who withdraw, based on Announcement Number: Peng-11/XI/2019:

1. Declared as a passing CPNS candidate and then withdrew, a fine of Rp25 million will be imposed.
2. Appointed as a CPNS and then withdrew, a fine of Rp50 million will be imposed.
3. Appointed as a CPNS, participated in basic intelligence training and other training, and then withdrew, a fine of Rp100 million will be imposed.
