Of the 107 candidates who passed the first selection stage, the selection committee for the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Commissioners only advanced 35 candidates. These candidates were selected based on assessments of public input, track records, and papers submitted. The selection committee collaborated with the KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission) and PPATK (Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre) to investigate the candidates' backgrounds.
Nine of the successful candidates are from the OJK, with two being current commissioners. Unfortunately, the current OJK Chairman, Muliaman D. Hadad, did not advance. Furthermore, four other commissioners—Nelson Tampubolon, Firdaus Djaelani, Ilya Avianti, and Kusumaningtuti Sandriharmy—were also eliminated in the second selection stage. As a result, the OJK leadership for the next five years will consist largely of new faces.
The successful candidates will undergo a third selection stage, an assessment center and health check, on February 27th and March 1st, 2017. The results of the third selection stage will be announced on March 6th.
