2023 Data: Unemployment in Balangan Regency is 2.7%

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released data showing that the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Balangan Regency reached 2.7% in 2023. This figure is a decrease of 1.28% compared to December 2022, which was recorded at 3.98%. However, compared to December 2021, the figure increased by 0.26%.

The open unemployment rate (TPT) over the past five years reached its highest point in 2022 at 3.98% and its lowest point in 2018 at 2.24%.

Compared to other regencies/cities, the open unemployment rate in this regency/city ranks 390th nationally. The national average open unemployment rate in 2023 was 4.3%.

The decrease in the open unemployment rate (TPT) is reflected in the number of employed people and the labor force figures published by BPS this year. The labor force in Balangan Regency has increased over the past three years. Historically, in 2021 there were 72,475 workers, in 2022 this decreased to 71,143 workers, and in 2023 it was recorded at 72,350 workers.

Regarding the number of employed people, the number of workers in Balangan Regency has increased over the past three years. Historically, in 2021 there were 70,707 workers, in 2022 this decreased to 68,313 workers, and in 2023 it was recorded at 70,395 workers.

The decrease in the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Balangan Regency is related to the plummeting economic growth in 2023. The economy in this region in 2023 was recorded at 4.17 percent. Previously, in 2022, economic growth in this regency/city was recorded at 5.24 percent.
