2022 Data: Unemployment in Aceh Jaya Regency 3.12%

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the open unemployment rate (OUR) in Aceh Jaya Regency in December 2023 decreased by 0.24% to 2.88% compared to December 2022. Compared to December 2021, the open unemployment rate (OUR) also decreased from 3.47%.

Since 2007, the open unemployment rate (OUR) in Aceh Jaya Regency has shown a downward trend. The same condition occurred four years after the Covid-19 pandemic, which began in March 2020, also contributing to the decrease in the open unemployment rate (OUR) in Aceh Jaya Regency.

Compared to other regencies/cities, the open unemployment rate (OUR) in this regency/city ranks 304 nationally. The national average open unemployment rate (OUR) in 2023 was 4.6%.

The reduction in the open unemployment rate (OUR) this year can be seen from the number of the workforce and the number of employed people. The number of the workforce in Aceh Jaya Regency has decreased over the past three years. Historically, in 2021 there were 51,323 workers, in 2022 this decreased to 50,051 workers, and in 2023 it was recorded as 49,476 workers.

As for the number of employed people, the number of workers in Aceh Jaya Regency has shown an upward trend over the past 14 years, while in the last four years, the number of workers has been on a downward trend. In 2021, there were 49,543 workers, and this number decreased to 48,052 workers in 2023.

The decrease in the open unemployment rate (OUR) in Aceh Jaya Regency is not directly related to economic growth in this region, which also continues to increase in 2023. The economy in this region in 2023 was recorded at 4.15 percent. Previously, in 2022, economic growth in this regency/city was recorded at 3.68 percent.
