Members of the House of Representatives and Civil Servants Pass OJK's Stage I Selection

The first stage of the selection process for members of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Board of Commissioners has shortlisted 107 candidates. Two of them are members of the House of Representatives (DPR), namely Melchias Markus Mekeng and Andreas Eddy Susetyo. Melchias is the head of the DPR's Finance Commission from the Golkar Party faction, while Andreas is a member of the Finance Commission from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle faction.

Besides members of the DPR, successful applicants come from diverse backgrounds. 44 are from the financial industry, including banking, capital markets, and non-bank institutions. Bank Indonesia, OJK, and the Deposit Insurance Corporation contributed 29 names, including the Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Muliaman Hadad, and the Executive Head of Capital Market Supervision, Nurhaida.

The selection committee received 882 online applications. Half of them were below the minimum required age of 35. Ultimately, only 174 applicants completed their documents and proceeded to the first stage of the selection process.
