According to a report by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia's employment to population ratio (EPR) was 67.17% in August 2025.
This means that for every 100 working-age people, approximately 67 are employed. However, this figure decreased by 0.07 percentage points compared to the EPR in February 2025, which was 67.24%.
EPR also reflects the dynamics between labor supply and demand in the economy.
"EPR is an important indicator to measure the extent to which the labor market can provide employment opportunities for the working-age population," BPS wrote in its report, Indikator Pasar Tenaga Kerja Indonesia Agustus 2025* (Indonesian Labor Market Indicators August 2025.
In August 2025, Papua Pegunungan became the province with the highest national EPR.
Meanwhile, the province with the lowest EPR was Papua, followed by Banten and DKI Jakarta.
