Business Sectors with the Highest Average Employee Salaries in Indonesia, August 2025

According to a report by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the average employee salary or worker's wage in Indonesia reached Rp3.33 million per month in August 2025.

The average increased by 1.94% compared to August last year.

Out of Indonesia's 17 main business sectors, the highest average salary was in the information and communication sector.

Meanwhile, the lowest average salaries were in the other services sector; and the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector.

Here are the details of the average employee salaries or worker's wages in Indonesia by sector in August 2025:

1. Information and Communication: Rp5.28 million
2. Financial and Insurance Activities: Rp5.12 million
3. Electricity and Gas Procurement: Rp5.07 million
4. Mining and Quarrying: Rp4.98 million
5. Public Administration, Defense, and Compulsory Social Security: Rp4.43 million
6. Real Estate: Rp4.4 million
7. Professional and Business Activities: Rp4.26 million
8. Transportation and Storage: Rp4.09 million
9. Human Health and Social Work Activities: Rp3.75 million
10. Manufacturing Industry: Rp3.27 million
11. Construction: Rp3.23 million
12. Education: Rp3.05 million
13. Wholesale and Retail Trade, Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles: Rp2.84 million
14. Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management, and Remediation Activities: Rp2.84 million
15. Accommodation and Food Service Activities: Rp2.55 million
16. Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries: Rp2.54 million
17. Other Service Activities: Rp1.97 million

Based on region, the highest average employee salary was in DKI Jakarta, at Rp5.9 million per month, followed by Central Papua at Rp4.81 million, and Riau Islands at Rp4.77 million.

Meanwhile, the lowest average wages were in Lampung at Rp2.52 million per month, followed by Central Java at Rp2.53 million, and West Nusa Tenggara at Rp2.57 million.
