According to a JakPat survey, Indonesians have diverse financial goals for 2025.

The majority, or 43%, of respondents aim to increase income through side hustles or businesses. Another 16% want to reduce unnecessary expenses.

"There's a shift in priorities towards increasing income and reducing expenses, likely reflecting economic uncertainty and inflationary pressures," JakPat wrote in its *Jakpat Consumers Outlook 2025* report.

Next, 13% of respondents plan to save for assets like houses or cars, and 9% intend to invest in stocks or mutual funds.

Furthermore, 7% each aim to save for emergency funds and retirement, while 5% want to pay off their debts next year.

The Jakpat survey involved 2,080 respondents, comprising 54% women and 46% men.

52% of respondents were located in Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi), followed by Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Malang, Medan, and Makassar, each at 7%.

The respondent demographics included 48% millennials, 35% Gen Z, and 18% Gen X.

The majority, or 42%, belonged to the middle class, 31% were aspiring to the middle class, 12% were poor, 11% were near-poor, and 4% were upper class.

The survey was conducted online in October 2024 via the Jakpat application.
