BPS: Nominal Wages for Farm Workers Increased to Rp58,232 per May 2022

A report from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the average nominal wage for farm laborers was Rp58,232 per day in May 2022. This figure is up 0.21% from the previous month's Rp58,109 per day.

Compared to May 2021, the average nominal wage for farm laborers increased by 2.68%.

Meanwhile, the average real wage for farm laborers was recorded at Rp51,974 per day last month. This amount is down 0.32% from April 2022's Rp52,139 per day. Compared to May 2021, the average real wage for farm laborers decreased by 0.87%.

The average nominal wage for construction workers in May 2022 was Rp92,224 per day. This figure increased by 0.19% from the previous month's Rp92,049 per day and increased by 1.31% compared to May 2021.

Meanwhile, the average real wage for construction workers reached Rp83,491 per day last month. This decreased by 0.21% from April 2022's Rp83,667 per day. Compared to May 2021, the average real wage for construction workers decreased by 2.19%.

For information, nominal wages are the average daily wages received by workers as compensation for work performed. Real wages, on the other hand, reflect the purchasing power of the income or wages received by workers.
