The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Kudus Regency reached 3.25% in 2023. This figure increased by 0.04% compared to December 2022, which was recorded at 3.21%. However, compared to December 2021, the figure decreased by 0.52%.
Since 2018, the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Kudus Regency has shown a downward trend in terms of numbers. Similarly, the post-Covid-19 pandemic conditions since 2020 have also contributed to the decrease in the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Kudus Regency.
Compared to other regencies/cities, the open unemployment rate in this regency/city ranks 335th nationally. The national average open unemployment rate in 2023 was 4.3%.
The increase in the open unemployment rate (TPT) is related to the data on the number of the workforce in this region. The number of the workforce in Kudus Regency has decreased over the past three years. Historically, in 2021, there were 521,090 workers; in 2022, this decreased to 501,120 workers; and in 2023, it was recorded at 489,160 workers.
Regarding the number of employed people, the number of workers in Kudus Regency has shown an upward trend over the past 15 years. In 2022, there were 485,050 workers, and in 2024, this increased to 501,710 workers.
The increase in the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Kudus Regency is not directly related to a slump in economic growth in 2023. The economy in this region in 2023 was recorded at 2.19 percent. Previously, in 2022, economic growth in this regency/city was recorded at 2.23 percent.
