Quota Cut, Updated Needs for CPNS and PPPK September 2023

The recruitment quota for CPNS and PPPK has been reduced for the September 2023 selection period. Initially, the recruitment quota reached 1,030,751 positions, but this has been reduced to 572,496 positions.

According to *CNBC Indonesia*, Aba Subagja, Assistant Deputy for Job Design, Planning, and Procurement of ASN Human Resources and Bureaucratic Reform at the Ministry of PAN-RB, stated that the latest figure does not include the formation needs of graduates from state schools this year.

Aba added that the reduction occurred after reviewing the needs of each institution.

The number of positions for state school graduates was initially 6,259, but after a review on July 31, 2023, it became zero. This reduction affected the total ASN 2023 needs, causing a decrease.

"So it was never fully realized because each institution considered its own budget," Aba said.

The latest breakdown of positions is as follows:

Central Government: 78,862 positions

* CPNS: 28,903 positions
* PPPK: 49,959 positions

Local Government: 493,634 positions

* PPPK Teacher: 296,084 positions
* PPPK Health Worker: 154,724 positions
* PPPK Technical Staff: 42,826 positions

The following is a comparison of the quota before the reduction:

Central Government: 81,119 positions

* CPNS: 34,453 positions
* PPPK: 46,666 positions

Local Government: 943,373 positions

* PPPK Teacher: 580,202 positions
* PPPK Health Worker: 327,542 positions
* PPPK Technical Staff: 35,629 positions

These figures are based on the needs of 72 ministries or institutions. Six ministries or institutions did not submit proposals. For local governments, 524 submitted proposals, while 22 institutions did not.

Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas previously stated that the 1.03 million positions were not yet final. This is because his office was still waiting for data and confirmation of needs from ministries/institutions (K/L) and local governments.

"However, several ministries and institutions, and local governments, have not yet submitted proposals. We are requesting and encouraging them to submit their proposals as soon as possible. We hope that these positions can be optimized," he said.
