On September 5, 2017, the government reopened recruitment for 17,928 civil servant candidates (CPNS) across 61 institutions. The CPNS vacancies were allocated as follows: 12,775 for Ministries, 4,653 for Government Agencies, and 500 for North Kalimantan Province.
Data from the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan) shows that the Ministry of Finance had the largest number of CPNS vacancies, with 2,880 positions. Second was the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency with 1,610 positions, and third was the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education with 1,500 CPNS positions.
Previously, in August 2017, the government also opened 12,910 CPNS positions for two legal institutions. This comprised 1,648 CPNS positions for the Supreme Court and 11,262 CPNS positions for the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
