Harvard University has been named the number one university in the world based on the US News Best Global Universities 2022 ranking. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, the university achieved a perfect score of 100.

Universities from the United States dominated the ranking of the world's best universities. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) ranked second, with a score of 97.5. This university is also located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

Stanford University in California, San Francisco, came in third with a score of 95.6. Following this was the University of California, Berkeley, with a score of 89.4. Meanwhile, the University of Oxford, located in Oxford, England, had a score of 87.1.

From Indonesia, Universitas Indonesia (UI) ranked first as the best university in Indonesia with a score of 42.4. With this score, UI ranked 15th among the best universities in Southeast Asia, and 217th in Asia. Globally, UI ranked 878th.

The US News Best Global Universities 2022 ranking included 1,750 universities spread across more than 90 countries worldwide. This ranking was based on 13 indicators used to measure the performance of academic research, along with the global and regional reputation of each institution. Furthermore, the ranking also included indicators of international collaboration, conferences, and total citations.
