Architecture programs study various aspects related to building design, ranging from technical aspects, design and concepts, project management, to building and environmental preservation.
According to the QS World University Rankings (QS WUR), the university with the best architecture program in the world is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States.
QS WUR conducts assessments based on academic reputation, employer reputation, and research impact. Scores range from 1-100, with higher scores indicating better universities.
MIT achieved the highest score globally, namely 97.2. Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands ranked second with a score of 95.1.
Next is University College London (UCL) in the UK with a score of 94.5, ETH Zurich-Swiss Federal Institute of Technology with a score of 94.4, and Harvard University with a score of 89.2.
In the list of the top 10 universities with the best architecture programs in the world, only one university is from Southeast Asia, namely the National University of Singapore (NUS). This Singaporean university received a score of 89.
Below NUS is the Manchester School of Architecture from the UK with a score of 88.6, followed by the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) in the United States with a score of 88.2.
Other universities with top architecture programs in the world are Tsinghua University from China, which received a score of 87.4, and Politecnico di Milano from Italy with a score of 86.8.
