Online transactions have increasingly facilitated shopping and online payments for the public. Payments can be made simply through digital wallets, m-banking, and other channels.

With all this ease, are people spending more money on shopping?

The Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) conducted a survey to answer this question. In its *2023 Internet Penetration and Behavior Survey* report, the majority, or 77.02% of total respondents, admitted to spending less than Rp500,000 on online transactions.

Meanwhile, 16.85% of respondents admitted to spending between Rp500,000 and Rp1 million. This was followed by 4.18% of respondents who answered that they spent Rp1 million to Rp3 million on online transactions.

There were also 0.69% of respondents who conducted online transactions of more than Rp3 million. The remaining 1.26% answered "don't know".

This survey involved 8,510 respondents across Indonesia. The details consist of 4,004 male respondents and 4,506 female respondents.

Data was collected from January 10-27, 2023, using interview and questionnaire methods and multi-stage random sampling techniques.

The survey's margin of error is approximately 1.14% with a 95% confidence level.
