At the end of 2023, the Indonesian Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) held an "Endowment Fund for Education" totaling Rp139.11 trillion.
This figure represents the accumulated funds received by LPDP from the State Budget (APBN), with the details of annual disbursement realization as shown in the graph.
Based on Presidential Regulation Number 111 of 2021, the "Endowment Fund for Education" is a perpetual fund to ensure the sustainability of education programs for future generations and cannot be used for operational expenditures.
These funds can be developed through short-term and/or long-term investments in securities and non-securities, both domestically and internationally.
The proceeds from this development can then be used for educational services and operational programs (such as scholarship funding, research, cultural activities, etc.), and/or to increase the balance of the endowment fund itself.
By the end of 2023, LPDP had achieved a surplus or return on the endowment fund of Rp5.95 trillion.
If this surplus is combined with the principal of the endowment fund, the total assets managed by LPDP at the end of 2023 reached Rp145.06 trillion.
