A report from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that there were 5,332 schools in DKI Jakarta in 2021.
These thousands of schools consist of public and private schools, ranging from elementary to high school levels, under the auspices of both the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology and the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Further details show that elementary schools are the most numerous in DKI Jakarta, reaching 2,845 units in 2021. There were 1,327 junior high schools, 584 senior high schools, and 576 vocational high schools in the capital city.
The total number of students at the elementary, junior high, and senior high/vocational high school levels in DKI Jakarta reached 1.7 million in 2021.
The breakdown is as follows: 903,780 elementary school students, 425,180 junior high school students, 206,630 senior high school students, and 207,470 vocational high school students.
