This is Indonesia's Sustainable Development Score according to the SDG Index.

Since 2015, Indonesia has adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The SDGs are a joint agenda of United Nations (UN) member states, aiming to improve people's welfare through development in social, economic, environmental, and governance sectors.

Generally, the SDGs have 169 targets encompassed within 17 major goals, all of which are expected to be achieved by 2030.

The 17 major SDG goals are:

1. Eradicate poverty;
2. Eradicate hunger;
3. Good health and well-being;
4. Quality education;
5. Gender equality;
6. Clean water and sanitation;
7. Affordable and clean energy;
8. Decent work and economic growth;
9. Industry, innovation, and infrastructure;
10. Reduce inequalities;
11. Sustainable cities and communities;
12. Responsible consumption and production;
13. Climate action;
14. Life below water;
15. Life on land;
16. Peace, justice, and strong institutions; and
17. Partnerships for the goals;

According to the Sustainable Development Report, Indonesia's progress in sustainable development has increased over the past two decades.

In 2000, Indonesia's SDG index score was only 59.41 out of 100. This means that, at that time, Indonesia had, on average, achieved only 59.41% of all SDG goals.

The score then gradually increased, reaching 69.43 in 2023, a new record high.

However, until 2023, Indonesia still received a "red" label or was considered to have "significant challenges" in addressing issues of hunger, health, sustainable cities and communities, and the preservation of marine and terrestrial ecosystems.
