Indonesia's State Budget Deficit Reached Rp 336.9 Trillion in July 2021

The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) recorded a State Budget (APBN) deficit of Rp 336.9 trillion at the end of July 2021. This figure is equivalent to 2.04% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The APBN deficit occurred due to lower-than-expected state revenue compared to state expenditure. State revenue realization reached Rp 1,031.5 trillion as of July 2021, a growth of 11.8% compared to the same period last year, which was Rp 922.5 trillion.

In detail, state revenue from tax receipts amounted to Rp 647.7 trillion. Import duty and excise duty receipts totaled Rp 141.2 trillion. Meanwhile, non-tax state revenue (PNBP) realization reached Rp 242.1 trillion.

Meanwhile, state expenditure reached Rp 1,368.4 trillion from January to July 2021. This realization increased by 9.3% compared to the same period the previous year, which was Rp 1,252.4 trillion.

The details are as follows: central government expenditure reached Rp 952.8 trillion, while transfers to regions and village funds reached Rp 415.5 trillion.

Furthermore, the primary balance experienced a deficit of Rp 143.6 trillion until July 2021. This figure is lower than the same period the previous year, which was a deficit of Rp 147.1 trillion.
